Respite Care Programs:
Work Hard, Play Hard, Make a Difference

Throughout the year, Friendship Ventures operates Creative Options Respite Care programs at Camp Friendship near Annandale, MN (approximately 60 miles northwest of Minneapolis), Eden Wood Center in Eden Prairie, MN,  a suburb of Minneapolis. These programs are designed for children and adults with and without developmental disabilities. While participants are relaxing and having fun, their families and care providers may enjoy a break from the daily demands of caring for a person with special needs.

Respite care takes place 3-4 weekends a month from Friday until Sunday. Most staff members are required to live on site and receive a salary for the weekend; room and board is provided. Some hourly positions may be available. Staff are able to set their working schedule according to their needs. Positions are available both at Eden Wood Center and at Camp Friendship.

All staff must be willing and able to meet the direct-care and recreational needs of participants, be physically and emotionally strong and mentally alert, lift at least 40 lbs, work well with others, and enjoy helping others.
