Summer Camp Registration has begun!
Summer Camp begins June 5 at Camp Friendship and June 13 at Camp Eden Wood, and the time to register is now!
This summer we again have a great lineup of resident camp programs for campers as young as five to vacationers into their 80's. Traditional weeks offer a variety of activities such as nature activities, campouts, fishing, crafts, dances, hikes in the woods and much more. Our sessions for children are open to children with and without disabilities. Campers may want to invite a friend, brother or sister to attend with them.
We have added some new special interest sessions. Hit the target with archery or make a scarf in “Beginning Crochet.” If you are an animal lover check out the "I ♥ Critters" session. New at Camp Eden Wood is Trailblazers for adventure seekers interested in biking on the Greenway or hiking the local trails. For horse lovers, both sites will offer horseback riding this summer.
Applications are accepted and registrations are processed right up to the beginning of summer camp…but remember, sessions fill quickly. Scholarships are available for those who need assistance. Take advantage of the Early Bird Offer, register by April 1 and receive a free selected canteen gift.
If you would like to visit camp, mark your calendar for Sunday, May 1st. Open House is a perfect day to visit. Staff members will be available from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Camp Friendship and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Eden Wood Center to answer questions and give tours.
Friendship Ventures is a non-profit agency that creates unique educational, recreational and social opportunities for people of all ages with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. We also offer conference and retreat services and professional team-building programs to the communities we serve.
