New Site Brings Friendship Ventures to Northern Minnesota!
We are happy to announce that Camp New Hope has joined the operations of Friendship Ventures as of June 1, 2005. This nonprofit camping center has served a similar population for 37 years and now has determined that it can provide better for its clients by partnering with a larger organization.
Camp New Hope, Inc. serves nearly 300 clients each year at its year-round center near McGregor, Minnesota. The 80-acre site overlooks scenic Glacier Lake, has a quarter mile of lakeshore and is nestled in the heart of the Savanna State Forest.
By joining forces with Friendship Ventures, Camp New Hope can benefit from the consolidation of some administrative tasks and focus more on providing direct care services. And, the merger helps Friendship Ventures fulfill its goal of expanding services in Northern Minnesota. By teaming up with an existing agency, Friendship Ventures can have an immediate impact on statewide services for people with disabilities.
The timing of the management transfer allows us to offer a limited schedule of summer sessions at Camp New Hope this year, from July 31 to August 17. Registration began June 1 for these camp sessions. Plans are underway to offer an expanded summer schedule in 2006.
As with all Friendship Ventures programs, financial assistance is available for families who are not able to afford to pay the full cost or discount fee.

Friendship Ventures is a non-profit agency that creates unique educational, recreational and social opportunities for people of all ages with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.
