Fixin' & Fun Weekend
Mona Harmann planted flowers to beautify Camp Friendship over Memorial Weekend. This is the 36th year that volunteers have spent the holiday weekend completing spruce-up, clean-up projects to get ready for summer camp.
The event, traditionally known as the Jaycee Cleanathon, was renamed the Fixin’ & Fun Weekend. Begun by Minnesota Jaycees, the weekend has grown to include volunteers from other areas.
This year 30 volunteers painted buildings, planted flowers, installed a split rail fence, cleaned around the lake bank and cleared wagon trails around the camp – all in one weekend!
Thanks to everyone who spent their weekend fixin’ Camp Friendship just in time for our participants to have fun!
Friendship Ventures is a non-profit agency that creates unique educational, recreational and social opportunities for people of all ages with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. We also offer conference and retreat services and professional team-building programs to the communities we serve.
