Summer Resident Camp Programs
Friendship Ventures has been offering camps for people with disabilities since 1964. A full slate of general and special interest sessions offers a little bit of everything from A to Z.

General Sessions for Adults
The resort-like settings at all three locations provide a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere for adult guests. General sessions for guests ages 18 to 70 and older provide opportunities to live cooperatively with others, share in the responsibilities of group living, develop new leisure interests, experience traditional camp activities and have fun!

Guests determine their own activity interests and level of participation. At Camp Friendship, the general sessions for adults are called Be Our Guest; at Eden Wood, Escape to Eden Wood and at Camp New Hope - Northwoods Getaways. For a complete list of dates, see the Summer Resident Camp Schedule.

General Sessions for Kids & Teenagers
General sessions for kids, teenagers and young adults (ages 5 to 21) are offered throughout the summer at Eden Wood (Celebrate Summer), Camp Friendship (All Kids Belong) and Camp New Hope (Kids Fest). For a complete list of dates, see the Summer Resident Camp Schedule.

Participants ages 8 to 21 who sign up for All Kids Belong at Camp Friendship can choose from special interest sessions designed especially for them.  For a complete list, see the Summer Resident Camp Schedule.

Camp Adventure program offered at Camp New Hope and Camp Friendship and focuses on meeting the needs of children, ages 7-12, with academic and/or social skill difficulties (particularly ADD/ADHD and FAS) and their siblings.  Through involvement in a focused, supportive camp community, children will be able to develop positive friendships.  The program offers structured, organized, high-paced activities that can improve self-esteem, self-confidence and independence.  Space for Camp Adventure is limited so please register early.  Complete your summer with a power-packed week of excitement!

Aspergers Camp offered for various ages and are specifically designed for children and young adults with Aspergers.  This structured program will focus on social skill learning and practice, such as asking to join activities, trying something new, sharing and taking turns while participating in traditional camp activities.  Day camp at Camp Eden Wood is a great introduction to the camp experience and the overnight resident camp week at Camp Friendship and Camp New Hope opens opportunities for group living.  The session at Camp New Hope will integrate outdoor camping skills, orienteering, leadership skills and focus on transitional applications that will help attain independence.
